13 Mar 2009 -- Quick Bible Quiz

We had a huge FUN time during the meeting... the quiz goes like this:

The facilitator will give a bible verse (eg: John 3:16) and which word, then the participants have to quickly open the bible and go to the said verse, then look for the specified word (eg: the word is 'wood'), then the participants have to quickly look for the object (wood) and present it to the facilitator. The fastest to present the correct object/item to the facilitator will get 10 points and team with the highest score would then win the game :-)

Tuai Rumah, Pat & Ton's team won the game..... runner up was Lyd, Bern & Wee's team.

Punishment was the winning team to choose a parable in the bible for the losing team to act out, while the winning team can choose which parable they'd love to do.

Guess what ??!! The losing team acted on the parable of the 10 virgins (with 1 actor & 2 actress only) and the winning team acted on the parable of the lost coin (which they did very very very well) :-)

Bravo to all..... all did well :-)

8-9 Mar 2009 -- Retreat venue changed to Permai Rainforest

Hohoho !!

Yeah.. due to all the 'fully-bookeds' at different retreat venues in kch.. we finally managed to secured reservation for 1 cabin @ Permai rainforest :-)

We had a great time there.... playing & swimming by the beach --> damai lagoon swimming pool haha!! then seafood dinner @ buntal.... praise & worship, evening session by Bern on God's image (remember we had to draw a white lion standing hehehe)... and many more...

There were 9 campers altogether: Bern, V, Tuai Rumah, Lyd, Bry, Wee, Ton, Ruth & Grc :-)

This said, we shall reserve Kubah for next retreat venue then :-)

Thanks guys for all the fun & fellowship.....

hey there..hehe..its been a mth since i first set my foot on sibu..got my internet last 2 weeks n now onli i get to persuade mysef to write sth here..reli got an impulse to write after reading d trip in santubong, had great fun yea!!reli reminded me of the great time we had in d previous retreat ;)
jz wana let u know tat im doin fine here..jz tat occasionally got so bz at work, n i think its all bcoz we r new n we tend to sapu everything to ourselves..;p nway its a good environment to learn things, new network to build, i guess more area for me to impact..as God has planned...
i dono when bt mayb sumwhere around these few months i wl be sent back to my mother hospital to do training, to start up a new section. so hopefully it wont be too long b4 i can go back again.hehe.n hope i can stay a lil longer.;
im joining HOPE currently wif one of my colleagues, jz trying to tune in to chinese service, n thank God tat it doesnt reli giv me much difficulty to blend in to it..but stil, im trying to visit more churches, like SIB if there's someone to bring me, jz pray that God will guide.

A Nite to Remember @ Santubong Resort (25-26 Oct 2008)

~ Reached there about 2.30pm

~ Had fun with all the crazy and fun ppl

~ Nine of us there: Tuai Rumah (as usual is d Camp Master), Bry, Lyd, Grc, DTan, DLee (hopped in during dinner -- hehe he knew the best event of all -- sigh), Wee, Bern & myself.

~ DTan did real great job in the beach games... WoW guess what??!! He got most of us filled in balloons with water, thereafter carried those water bombs from hotel room to the beach (quite a distance u know rite...), had some of us blindfolded, looked for the water bombs blindfolded and threw the water bombs to each other. Hahaha.. sounds crazy rite??!! But don't get me wrong... He came out with this games after some prayers and the Lord gave him an idea, and thus the name of the games was THE SHEPHERD & THE LOST SHEEP! Very Interesting !! Good job, DTan !! You're certainly our game master hahaha !!

~ After the beach games, we indulged ourselves in salty sea water and thereafter tempting swimming pool... [the guys had pool jump competition, and some of us had walking in the water competition hahaha :D ]

~ Had seafood dinner @ Palm Garden Seafood Restaurant. [psstt.... grc is not actually a seafood fan for some reason.. sorry grc... we'll look for better venue nx time :p )

~ Played cards, uno stacko, chit chatting with Wee (the garden master) till 4 am...

~ Ooopppsss... not only he is our garden master... he fell asleep very easily compared to all of us....

~ Had kinda short nap, woke up at 9am, prepared sandwitches for breakfast and had sunday service at 11 am.

~ Checked out around 1.30pm, back to kch for lunch [had nasi ayam penyet ~ indonesian cuisine rarely found in msia - perhaps it's the only one in kch]

~ back home safely and sound...... c u in nx trip :-)

Tony's father - thanks for praying

Dear guyz....

Thanks for praying for Tony's father. God was and is always amazing. I remember I smsed u guys to pray as he was admitted to hospital last wed, and by God's grace the doctor has allowed his father to be discharged from hospital on thursday... really glad to hear that !!

Tuai Rumah, Bry, Bern & I went to see him at tony's place, he was much better apparently. We talked to him and prayed for him. He was happy to be prayed for. He shared that he experienced Jesus' presence when he was in hospital, he told us that it was such a calming and peaceful moment when he was experiencing that :-)

We also tried every opportunity to share Christ with him, and we believe that what we shared has been planted into his heart and he juz needed some time to say yes to accepting Jesus as His personal Savior and Lord. Well.. keep on praying guys.... nothing is impossible for Him.. we just have to press in for more...

Tony sent me an sms, it sounds like this: "How great is our God! I just realized it's all because all of you are praying for us, that my father can be healed. In fact yesterday he was still very unstable. Really great is our God! Really !! Thanks for the prayers, my friends."

This sms is for all of you who has been keeping them in ur prayers... :-)

Sounds good, huh!! Want more miracle..???? Keep on praying guys... and let God dwell in our house of prayers :-)

Dear YAG,

Thank you for covering me and the kids with your prayers. Aaron managed to complete his last paper for the PMR exam despite vomiting twice (the night before and in the early morning on 17 Oct 08 Friday). He was even able to proceed to a school motivational overnight camp at noon that day........ :)

The 15th M'sian Forestry Conference has finally concluded on Thur 23 Oct 2008. I acknowledge with thanks to many of you who stood in the gap praying for me in my work place. Despite many setbacks and situations beyond our control, God provided what we needed to finally pull thru the whole event! I learnt many valuable lessons and also received blessings which I will share with you at our YAG meetings. God truly uses tough times and circumstances to mould our hearts and attitudes - nothing is in vain when we allow Him Lordship over our lives :)

Wow! talk about the power of prayer, people! Our God is indeed an awesome God! Let us continue to build a House of Prayer for Him!

True Worshippers was birthed in 1996 as some young adults began experiencing encounters with the Holy Spirit. Guys!!! Do access the website for further details as some of it i can't post it in here. I only put in the important ones. For registration you can do it through the website. They do recommend few hotels that you can stay at during the conference.

I know Singapore is not cheap but if you are able to go or anyone you know who are interested, do encourage them to go as this is a chance of a lifetime to meet few of the world top speakers and worship leaders. An opprtunity not to be missed.

So Cute!!!

Report: Sharing your personal life (Sept 20)

Last Saturday (Sept 20), we had our Personal Sharing session. It was a a good time of fellowship (much laughter and some authenticity); encouragement and even warning (thro' words that all of you spoke) and very yummy supper. ;-)

Thank you for your presence (Bern, E, Pat, DMok, DLee, Lydia, Bry, DTan, Wee, Tony and Di)

There was a sense of freedom in our praise and worship; we sang out of our hearts. During the last song, "Still", I felt such a sense of relief (God is with us) and surrender to Him (He is in control of our situations) and comfort despite the "rough seas" in my week. Thank u, Lydia and DLee for leading. Good work!

The surprise of the nite would probably be the icebreaker. It was really fun. (I laughed until I cried!) DTan gave thought and even purpose to the ice-breaker. Good job!

Hearing from you all is always a blessing. It shows me that God is dealing with us all (Surely He is the Author and the Finisher of our faith!). We come from different experiences and walk of life, but He is working in us all. I hear the concerns of your heart; things that God is speaking to you and hearing from these from you; I'm encouraged to continue in my faith.

When DMok shared about how she "saw" God's hand even in a seemingly "negative" situation; I was encouraged. When I heard that she was posted to the new place, I was a little concerned. From her sharing, I know God will see her thro' and fulfill His purpose for her (As long as we are open to see His hands and provision for us, not doubting His ways, we are standing on good grounds.)

From some of the sharing, I am reminded that we are to take our faith walk seriously; not to play church; not to be lukewarm; not to look at men (people in ministry) but rather to look to Him.

I was surprised at some of the honesty and authenticity of DLee and Evy. They didn't hide their inadequecies and struggles. I"m touched that they trust us enough to open their lives to us. Let us also do likewise. Matt 5:3 God blesses those who are poor and realise their need for Him for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. If we are honest with ourselves, we are poor in spirit and has need for Him to work in us. All of us have our struggles with our "old man".

During the leaders' meeting, we were encouraged to write a short report on all the meetings that was held. (Something I've not been doing) ..so I thought it would be a good to write a review instead on the blog.

Frankly speaking.. this is my 1st int'l event that I'll be attending, initially I was half-hearted... not sure what will come forth of me after the event, but I think as I pray and submit to God for His leading.. I believe He'll lead me all the way... Something good, great & greater must be on the way.... :-)

Finding Your Missing Peace

Recap on this morning's message:

Peacemaking is NOT
-avoiding confrontations & conflicts
-appeasing others to avoid conflict
It is actively seeking to resolve the conflict.

Why be a peacemaker? Unresolved conflicts can be damaging in the following ways
1. blocks my fellowship with God
2. prevents answered prayers
3. hinders my happiness

How to be a peace maker?
Plan a peace conference
Empathize with the other person's feelings
Attack the problem not the person
Cooperate as much as possible
Emphasize reconciliation not resolution

MOST important is to invite Jesus into my life.

Di: So how do you all find the message? I have something to share about this cos' during the past week, something happened at work. So the message this morning was like a check in my spirit.

What happened? My colleagues and I were discussing an administration problem . We were running out of time (to cover the syllabuses) and the both of them wanted to use a certain facility. As coordinator, I had to advise them. Suddenly one of them blew her top. She was really upset. We were surprised at her outburst. But when I thought more of it (people, this is me, ok? U need to give me time to think thro' certain things that u shared with me. I need to talk it over with the Holy Spirit first, or else it will always come up wrong and I usually end up hurting people...) i realized i was at fault for not being more sympathetic and supportive of her. I suspect that in the past months i had small unresolved conflicts with her. When a conflict takes place, she tends to give in to me partly because of her personality and also my seniority. So I guess this was the last straw for her.
Don't take me wrongly...At first, I was stubborn and indignant. My spirit man (spiritual man) told me clearly to make peace with her. But, no...."the old man" was indignant.....How can a mature person do this?..... *&^Y**&** (no I'm not swearing) but I was indignant. That night, I struggled with the Holy Spirit:
"You should go, hear her out and resolve this.....Vs But, but, but...... " I couldn't bring myself to sms her with a gentle reply (I thought it was too humbling for my big ego...) I prayed and prayed.....I looked over the problem, realised that it is an issue and decided to resolve the problem (who should use the facility?) by giving in to her suggestion but with certain conditions so that it is fair to the other person. I also decided to sacrifice something (my comfort and greater effort to accomodate her ) to show her I want to make peace.
The next day, I asked to see her and very professionally seeked to solve the problem. To some extent, it was. I wanted to say sorry (cos I was really sorry to have upset her) but we were in front of so many people. But later at a more private time, I apologized for hurting her. She explained that she wasn't feeling well lately ( The Holy Spirit had reminded me that the day before). She wanted to say more but instead she said forget about it. I think it is her personality not to confront.
So guess at my surprise when I heard the message. Looking back, I wanted to resolve the problem but not necessarily to reconcile (at least not consciously) with her. Now, I realize I need to reconcile with her. Our God is in the business of reconciliation; He came not just to pay for our sins (resolve the problem) but to reconcile with us (to make peace with us) so that we can experience His life. Jesus did not just die on the cross and say goodbye...you are on your own now.....c u all in heaven..... BUT He made His home in our hearts.
So I want that... I want to follow His footsteps.. I want LIFE to flow thro' my colleague's life and mine. Pray for me that there will be opportunities for healing and reconciliation in the week to come for her and me.

P: Way to go, Di! u are one who seeks after our Father's heart. It takes courage and humility to initiate reconciliation and when we desire it, God will open the door! We are with you on this :)
